Description

I wish to convey my warmest congratulations to the Electronic Engineering Department on the 50th anniversary! Thank you so much EE department for giving me a great exchange opportunity during my university life. This one-year exchange program in Japan really changed my mind in different aspects. If you ask me, I would tell you that the exchange study is worth taking part in with no hesitation.

First of all, I raised my language proficiency including English, Japanese, and Putonghua by communicating with my hallmates. Now, I am so surprised that I can switch the spoken language in a short time and I cannot believe that I passed JLPT N2 level. The most important thing is I enjoy learning a new language now and, I am determined to keep learning Japanese and take JLPT N1 in the future.

For school life, in addition to taking some Japanese courses, I sat in various courses including engineering, Japanese culture, and mathematics. The lecture is quite different from the CUHK. The most different thing is the atmosphere during the lecture. There is much interaction between professors and students at Soka University. It is quite surprising to me very much. The local student is willing to answer the question and discuss questions with professors during the lecture. In CUHK, students prefer that discuss questions with professors after the lecture or by email instead of during the lecture.

Last but not least, I am thankful to CUHK and EE department for giving me the valuable chance to have a one-year exchange in Japan. Also, I would like to say thank you again to Prof. Xu from EE department and Dr. Sum from CSE department for taking the time to write on my behalf for my exchange application. I appreciate the great support throughout the process. This one-year exchange program in Japan broadens my horizon. It is beneficial to my future career in different aspects including language skills and interpersonal skills. This year becomes the most memorable experience in my life.
